How Jordan Harbinger Lost 40 Pounds of Fat and Rewired His Body
Being out of shape had a profound effect on Jordan. Like the character from The Wizard of Oz with stiff joints, Jordan says “I felt like the Tin Man before I started working out. It was hard to even get in and out of the car, I couldn’t bend down to play with my son on the floor—I was too tight.”
Week after week, Chad tweaked the workouts to continually build and challenge Jordan’s ability. Jordan says, “Chad always knows what I can handle. It’s always the right pace, the right speed. It’s never outside what I can do—that’s what good trainers do.”
Jordan explains, “I wasn’t even thinking about looking the best I ever have or having life-changing amounts of mobility—it wasn’t even in the realm of possibility. I had hip pain, back pain, knee pain that I thought was a permanent part of my life—and then it all went went away. I haven’t felt it since. Turns out the pain wasn’t permanent. It was because I was out of shape.”
With Chad’s guidance, modifications and detailed training cues, Jordan unlocked the right way to do the moves and get the most out of their sessions together. Instead of dreading workouts like he used to long ago, Jordan began looking forward to them. What started as two sessions a week with Chad soon became three times a week, and now four.
Looking Back and Looking Forward on His Fitness Journey
Jordan tells the story of looking at photos on his iPad from a trip years ago. It was before he made the commitment to lose weight, get in shape, change his mindset, and put himself on a lifelong path to sustainable wellness.
All it took was seeing himself in those pictures for him to think, “HOW did you let yourself get that way. It’s crazy!”
Today, Jordan is a different man. His professional life continues to flourish in ways he could only dream. He’s a devoted husband and a loving dad. In short, the man is BUSY.
But a constant in his life is his commitment to staying in shape, keeping the pounds off, and upping his training game. “I used to have a shoulder that would pop out,” says Jordan. “It hasn’t popped out once in the two years I’ve been training with Chad. Before, doctors told me I’d probably need surgery. Now, I can do some pretty complicated moves while holding a giant kettlebell with one arm. I’m doing Turkish get-ups—it’s inspiring.”
When it came time to redo his back yard not too long ago, he decided against adding a pool—deciding instead to add a gym. “I wish I had found WRKOUT earlier!
